Which door do you choose?
Should you take the blue pill or the red pill?
Decisions will make and break us as entrepreneurs.
Scratch that—decisions will make and break us as humans.
Notice I didn’t say “make or break” us. Decisions do both, because humans are flawed and we don’t always make the right decisions (or always make the wrong ones for that matter).
The collection of decisions we make in life will tell a story though.
Like an elaborate movie script, our decisions create a string of events that take us from point a (birth) to point z (physical death). Those two points happen to everyone—non-negotiable. Points b through y are within our control. We can influence what happens in life.
Where you are right now in business, relationships, spirituality, personal finances, life, directly correlates with the decisions you made (or others made for you) every day leading up to today.
With that realization, we should ponder frequently the decisions we made in the past, and the way we intend to make decisions moving forward. How do you get to where you want to go, and what are the necessary turns and pathways to get there?
Decision making is a learned skill.
You can be bad or good at making the right decisions. The proof is in the pudding.
The words “yes” and “no” are the most impactful words in existence.
Knowing when to use which word will strongly impact the directions of all areas of life for us and the people around us.
Making good decisions isn’t easy. We know that because if it was easy, we wouldn’t make insane decisions as often as we do.
I haven’t mastered decision making quite yet, but here’s a good place to start.
Oh, and if you feel overwhelmed all the time and feel trapped, learn to say “no”. It will change your life.
